Manufacturing touch technology products from three modern factory premises in Blaydon upon Tyne, United Kingdom, Zytronic produce a range of projected capacitive touch technology interactive products which are used in electronic displays for information kiosks, ATMs, ticketing and gaming machines, as well as by military, computer, telecommunications and medical manufacturers. Our diverse range of touch sensor technology products are all based on our internationally award winning projected capacitive touch technology, providing a highly durable and stable touch technology where the sensing element is uniquely embedded behind the first surface of the touch substrate.
The Zytronic in-house glass processing facilities include automated cutting, edge grinding, polishing and drilling equipment complemented by bending and thermal tempering ovens and silk-screen printing equipment. These facilities are complemented by the lamination, material science and electronics skills and expertise of our dedicated staff.
Zytronic also has in-house electro-plating and coating facilities which enable the production of optical filters to enhance the performance of information displays and provide anti-vandal protection, RFI/EMI filters to minimise electromagnetic emissions and interference from electronic displays and specialised laminated products for the defence, rail, road and automotive industries.

Sales Manager - Asia Pacific Region
Status: Full Time
Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne
Salary: Negotiable
General Duties:
To manage sales within the Asia / Pacific region and/or to specific accounts and to contribute to the growth of Zytronic in line with business and shareholder expectations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- To manage the designated sales territory to achieve annual budgeted volume and profitability targets.
- Through proactive prospecting within the territory, to identify and develop profitable new business opportunities with existing and new customers.
- To champion ZDL’s relationship with its end customers, developing contacts at all levels and functional areas within their locations (e.g. Product Development, Marketing, and Manufacturing).
- Manage distributors and agents within the assigned territory according to ZDL business requirements (including identification of new distributors and agents, training, setting and managing to objectives, termination of underperforming representatives)
- To delegate non sales related tasks to agreed ZDL functional specialists (e.g. R&D Engineers, Quality Manager) but to coach and provide guidance to ensure a consistent, timely and professional response to the customer involved.
- Use and keep updated the ZDL CRM system for responsible accounts and territories to enable the successful management of customer contact, visit report, design, sample and order fulfilment process.
- Gather and report upon sales activity and marketing information within the designated territory to senior management (this data may include; monthly sales reports, visit reports, market/new product opportunities, competitor activities, product trends, etc).
- To liaise with Customer Service Manager to ensure customer complaints are dealt with promptly and within ZDL targets.
- When requesting a cost, drawing or sample, to provide the Customer Service and Sample teams with all the information necessary for the quick and efficient completion.
Person Specification
- HND level – ideally in a technical discipline or electronics related
- Around 10 years sales experience, including at circa 5 years in a technical/industrial sales role responsible for Asian countries
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively in the role
- Located in NE or prepared to relocate (position will be based in Blaydon)
- Some Asian language skills would be beneficial but not essential

Touchscreen Production Manager
Status: Full Time
Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne
Salary: Negotiable
Background
This is a newly created management role in preparation for the current overall production manager moving into a production director designate role in line with the company succession plans.
Key Responsibility Areas:
- Responsibility for production within the touch screen product business areas and is ultimately responsible for the key production/operations business metrics within the areas under his/her control:
- Efficiency of production
- Cost of production
- Quality of product produced
- Scrap levels
- Support to new product introduction
- This would include responsibility for 4-5 production supervisors across a varied shift pattern and 60 – 70 operatives.
- A key element of the role would involve “production-ising” new product variants and ensuring that direct costs are driven down as quickly as possible, as such a sound understanding of modern manufacturing techniques, labour utilisation and broad engineering ability is required.
- Key interaction with the production control department in relation to achieving the production plan.
- Managing departmental housekeeping to 5s standards and maintaining company quality standards.
- Supporting the ongoing capital investment programme through direct input on manufacturing process enhancements.
- Interaction with product development and sales functions to ensure new products, variants and technologies are introduced effectively.
- Ensure a safe working environment and that staff are working in a safe manner in line with company health and safety procedures.
- Through the supervisory structure, leading training and development of staff to ensure adequate skills are established and maintained in support of new product and technology developments.
- Responsible for all HR related issues within the business areas such as disiplinaries, grievances, performance reviews and some union interaction.
Person Specification
- The person should have a technical related qualification – HND etc. and have worked in a manufacturing environment where there is product/production variety/complexity or new product development activity.
- An ability to develop a sound understanding of Zytronic’s products and processes over time.
- The candidate should display keen problem solving ability and have a can do attitude. Flexibility is also a key personal attribute required by all Zytronic management.
- Good communication skills at all levels coupled with a mature diplomacy in relation to the current culture within the business.
- A sound understanding of modern manufacturing systems and improvement techniques.
- Able to demonstrate good man management and leadership qualities.
